Thank you for your interest in the West Coast Poverty Center. The Center focuses on increasing understanding of the causes and consequences of poverty and effective policy approaches to reducing it in the west coast states.

For an extensive and current overview of trends in poverty with respect to labor markets, demographics, social and economic inequality, and family structure, please refer to our Poverty Basics section. The section includes current data at the national level as well as state level data for Washington, Oregon, and California.

The WCPC Speakers Bureau is available to help you find specific background information, expert advice, or quotes related to breaking poverty issues. A list of Speakers is available here. We understand that timeliness is of the utmost importance, and we ask that you contact our Center Program Director Rachel Lodge, at (206) 616-2858, so that we can connect you with the most relevant available expert.

In addition, profiles of our faculty affiliates and their areas of study can be found here. A more in-depth compilation of affiliate research on poverty, by topic and by author, is also available through our Poverty Research section.

If you have any suggestions about making the website more useful, please contact us. We appreciate your feedback.
